RAPPER ROCKO MISTAKES: SENTENCED TO JAIL
U.S. Rapper ROCKO has been sentenced to 48 hours in jail after pleading no contest to allegations he assaulted a woman in 2007. The star - real name Rodney Hill Jr. - entered a no contest plea to battery charges resulting from the altercation, in which he reportedly struck the woman.
The unnamed victim was left with injuries and contusions to her eyes and face.
Hill, the fiance of R&B singer Monica, will also have to serve an unspecified amount of community service while under one year's probation.

Rocko Rapper News (december 2010 UPDATE)
In this music industry, there are those who wait for things to come to them and there are others who go out and get it. Rapper/ businessman Rocko the Rapper is one who doesn’t wait for things to come to him. Getting his start in the game by creating his own record label, Rocky Road, the Atlanta native has been making noise since he debuted on the scene as an artist back in 2006 with his smash song, “Umma Do Me.” The song led to a deal with Def Jam records and Rocko’s debut album, Self Made, was released in 2008. Fast forward to the end of 2010, Rocko has left the big machine and once again taken his career back into his own hands. With a new label, A1 Recordings, new mixtape and new focus, Rocko is determined to make 2011 his year. I had the chance to chop it up with Rocko about various topics, including being independent, his new mixtape, what the future holds for him and dealing with being in the public eye. What Rocko has been up to:
I just started a new label, A1 Recordings. A1 is top of the line. A for alpha, 1 is the top, it gets no better. I just got off of Def Jam, so its a new beginning. My first artist is Future, he’s on the mixtape I just dropped, Rocko Dinero.
On his latest mixtape, Rocko Dinero, and the feedback he’s been getting:
I’ve been hearing great responses. I haven’t heard anything bad. When I started recording it, it wasn’t a traditional mixtape. I wanted it to have an album feel. The streets are loving it!
On working with producer Drumma Boy:
Drumma is my brother from another mother. We’ve got an arsenal of hits. He did 60-70 percent of the album. I’m actually going to be putting out a project, Barack O Drumma, a mixtape featuring Drumma Boy and DJ Drama.
On who Rocko Rapper wants to collaborate with:
I’m open to work with whoever. If you come from the heart, I want to collaborate with you. It’s gotta be something in common, whether its the same background, same struggle, or same goal. Kanye and Jay-Z are two people I’d want to work with.
On dealing with being in the public eye:
It’s hard. People are always trying to scrutinize rappers. It’s very hard. You see what happened with Boosie, T.I., Gucci. You’ve got to walk light. I try to look at my decisions and see who its going to effect.
On Rocko next official album release:
I’m just getting distribution situated. In the meantime I’m working on street albums. Two or three will drop before March, and by April-May, I’ll be looking to release an official project.
